Amanda Nyx will address the history of the Tarot, including its origins as a playing card game and its development into a spiritual system. She will also discuss different uses for the cards.
This 90 minute workshop will briefly address the history of the Tarot, including its origins as a playing card game and its development into a spiritual system, before taking a deeper look at the archetypal meanings behind the Major Arcana (the first 22 cards of the deck) and the Minor Arcana suits. Different decks will be considered to highlight differences in iconographic and symbolic approaches with discussion on how an individual deck might inspire deeper connection or alternative viewpoints. Finally, discussion on the potential uses of the cards for secular or personal spiritual opportunities will encourage participants to consider using Tarot for journaling prompts, introspective questions, clarified actions, and personal empowerment.
Participants are welcome to bring a journal and/or a Tarot deck if they already have their own.
