Preview of The Land's next free, 12-week training and mentoring program
The Land – a nonprofit newsroom covering Cleveland and its inner-ring suburbs – has been training Community Journalists for years. These reporters are people just like you. Many have no experience as writers, and most have no formal training as journalists. They do have a burning desire to share authentic news from their communities. With our help, we bring their voice and their enthusiasm to the wider world. During this session, we’ll give you a condensed version of the training we offer these students. We’ll walk you through the basic structure of a story, how to think and write like a journalist, how to secure and conduct an interview, and more.
