Hidden gems for writers, free at the library
Your library has countless free resources for writers, and this one-hour session will show you where they are and introduce you to some of the best. You'll learn about writing videos in Kanopy and Hoopla, as well as can't-miss literary magazines in Flipster and PressReader. Winter is the perfect time to explore these free databases on the library's website. Bring your laptop and your CCPL library card (and PIN), if you'd like a hands-on experience. We'll also go over some of the recurring programs at the Writers' Center and answer any questions you have.
Laurie Kincer has run the William N. Skirball Writers’ Center at the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch since it opened in 2015. She loves connecting writers with free resources and each other. She has an MLIS from Kent State University, an MA in English from Case Western Reserve University, and a BA in English from Ohio Wesleyan University. Her work has appeared in 40 Over 40: A Poetry Anthology, Poem for Cleveland, Braided Way Magazine, A Poetic Inventory of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, "Raw Data: Living in the Fallout from Coronavirus," Library Partnerships with Writers and Poets, and others.
