Meeting Room C/D (90)

This is a free, 12-week certification program funded by an Aspire grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education. The next cohort starts on 7/21/2025. Text (216) 990-8271 for more information.

This two-night-per-week course covers the fundamentals of starting a business including developing your idea, conducting market research, obtaining a business license, basic marketing concepts, bookkeeping, and more. There will be an exam at the end of the class that will provide you with a U.S. Entrepreneurship Certification credential, which can be helpful if you are planning to seek funding for your business idea in the form of grants and/or loans. 

You may attend online (via Zoom) or in-person. The class is taught on Mondays at the Parma Powers Branch, located at 6996 Powers Blvd., Parma and on Tuesdays at the Maple Heights Branch, located at 5225 Library Lane, Maple Heights. This is so we can offer an in-person option on both the west and east side of town. About the branch

Located across from University Hospitals Parma Medical Center and adjacent to city hall, the Parma-Powers Branch offers a full service drive-up window, community meeting spaces and an interactive children’s area featuring artwork by beloved writer/illustrator Rosemary Wells.

This branch is a Student Success Center and a Greater Cleveland Food Bank Kids Café location.
