2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Come learn more about this tragic event that has evolved into unforgettable maritime history.

On November 10, 1975, the Great Lakes freighter Edmund Fitzgerald disappeared into the depths of Lake Superior, along with all 29 crew members.  Dive deeper into the ship's story with the National Museum of the Great Lakes as they trace the rise of Great Lakes shipping, the Fitzgerald's record-setting 18-year career, and the leading theories behind the ship's tragic end.
